Leetcode has been a major fear for many developers, myself included. Today, I have decided to overcome that fear and face it head-on.
Why have I shied away? Probably because Its hard, I remember being given two-sum and couldnt solve it for my life... That being said, I firmly believe that if you put your mind to something and work really hard at it, you can achieve your goal. Even though I am a front-end developer and LeetCode-style interview questions are less common for us, I'd like to be prepared regardless. It will not be easy, but I am willing to try and solve at least one question each day, embracing the struggle, and hopefully one day pass that dreaded technical interview with confidence.
I will also continue building other projects that come to mind to improve my skills and tackle different challenges. While Leetcode is now the go-to for most interviews, it might be just as valuable to demonstrate a project I have built from start to finish at a high standard.
Below is my current progress on Leetcode and my current ranking is 2,329,049 ✌️. You can see I had bursts of motivation here and there, working on it for a few days before questioning if it was worth it and eventually stopping. Now, I've made a real commitment. I posted it on my blog so that others can hold me accountable—there's no more shying away 😨. It may take few months, a year, or even longer to feel satisfied. But regardless, I shall keep going.
